Education

MA and Ph.D. in American Studies/African American History and Culture, The College of William and Mary

Dr. Toby Chieffo-Reidway is a former professor, published author, and recipient of several research grants and fellowships. She is currently CEO and founder of two businesses: an after-school theater program called Acting Out with Professor Toby and Irish Eyes Photography by Toby. She is also the producer of “Summer Smash Up” musical theater camp in Fairfax, VA, where each summer, she and her team write an original musical for campers ages 7-15 to perform. Dr. Chieffo-Reidway is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), and the International Thespian Society (ITS). Over the past 25 years, she has appeared in various television shows, commercials, and feature films and has performed in over a dozen musicals and plays. She loved directing the Upper School play Puffs at Wakefield and enjoys time with her kids, Ella (‘22), Patrick (‘27), and her husband, Bill, writing music, singing, going to the movies, long walks, and cuddling with their dog and six cats!
