Grant spent twenty-one years as a Special Education teacher, Assistant Director of Student Activities, and Varsity Soccer Coach at James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia. He then took seven years off from his career to be home with his two children while coaching girls' soccer at Chantilly High School. He started coaching the Wakefield boys' soccer team in 2017 and subsequently took on coaching duties for the girls' team the following year. Once his children were in school full-time, it was time to get back to work, and he was hired in 2020 to teach in the Academic Resource Center at Wakefield School. Grant spends most of his time coaching soccer and, along with his wife, cheering on their kids' activities of soccer, baseball, and gymnastics. His favorite activity is to travel and visit new places throughout the world, although he is finding little time to pursue that interest at the moment.
