In 2021, Tara returned to the classroom and fell in love with the beautiful Wakefield campus, its students, and faculty members. Before joining the Wakefield faculty, Tara spent several years as a third-grade teacher in Virginia and North Carolina. She is dedicated to creating a warm and inclusive classroom where each student can thrive. Her teaching philosophy centers around fostering a love of learning while building a solid foundation of knowledge and critical thinking skills. Tara has always taught third grade as she enjoys the independence of the age coupled with their innocence, joy, and wonder. Outside the classroom, Tara enjoys a good cup of coffee, reading, cheering on the Hokies, and spending quality time with her family.
