Corinne has always been a bookworm at heart. When she discovered that there was a way for her to both talk about and hear others' insights about books for a living, her career path was set. Now she encourages her students to make modern-day connections to what they are learning to personalize their education and understanding (and not-so-secretly spreads her love of Shakespeare to the masses). Before she arrived at Wakefield in August of 2023, Corinne taught 8th and 9th grade English and ran the Theatre Department for three years at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, VA. She recently finished her 16th summer as a camper, counselor, and now Program Director at Camp Rim Rock for Girls in Yellow Spring, WV, which she describes as her "happiest place." In her spare time, Corinne is involved with Wakefield's theater program, takes dance classes, cross-stitches, and gives lots of snuggles to her rather large calico cat, Ophelia.
