Born to these rolling Virginia hills and a long line of musicians, Bess Putnam is proud to pass the music down to the next generation. Outside the classroom, she is a performing artist billed as The Blue Mountain Songbird. Her performances are focused on tying music to history to promote the conservation of this historic landscape. She and her husband own a herd of beef cattle and farm in the Middleburg area. Along with their two daughters, Gwenevere and Lila, they are a sporting family and love everything from hunting and riding to shooting and fishing.
