Give Now!

Support by donors in our community is fundamental to the success of every program, every activity, every event, and every achievement at Wakefield School.  Everyone can play an important role in supporting our school through donations of all sizes.

Charitable gifts can be made to Wakefield School in a variety of ways:

Cash Gifts

Cash Gifts are the most common way to make a charitable contribution. Checks should be made payable to "Wakefield School” and sent directly to the Development Office, P.O. Box 107, The Plains, Virginia 20198 OR donate online.

Gifts of Securities

Gifts of Securities can provide significant tax savings for the donor. When you give appreciated securities, your capital gains are not taxed; if you have held the stock for more than a year, you may also qualify for a charitable income tax deduction equal to the securities’ full fair-market value. To transfer stock:

  1. Contact Amanda Burton. Scott & Stringfellow. Warrenton, VA. (800)-541-3851
  2. Account Information:
    • Scott and Stringfellow (DTC #0702)
      560 Broadview Avenue, Suite 100
      Warrenton, VA. 20186
      Registration name: Wakefield School Inc.
  3. Please notify the Development Office of your gift with the name and number of shares
you are donating so that we can properly account for share transfers.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Hundreds of organizations match charitable gifts of employees. Please check with your company to see if they will match your gift. If a matching program exists, please mail in the match form to the Wakefield School Development Office along with your gift. The Development Office will ensure that the form is filled out and submitted correctly. You will receive credit for the matched gift in the Annual Report.

Gifts-in-Kind are non-cash donations, which fulfill specific needs approved by the School such as computers, office furniture, classroom supplies, landscape material, athletic equipment and many other items that can support the curriculum, activities, and facilities at Wakefield School.

PLEASE NOTE: The value of a Gift-In-Kind is determined by the donor through appraisal or a record of purchase, not by Wakefield School. The IRS-approved acknowledgement letter will include a description of the item, but not a certification of value.
