An Endowment is a permanent fund that is invested and generates interest or dividend income annually. A portion of that income can be spent in any year, with the remainder being reinvested in order to achieve growth of the principal. Wakefield School has been raising funds for our unrestricted endowment since 2010. Initiated by the Board of Trustees as a priority for ensuring Wakefield’s stability through turbulent economic times such as the recession of 2008, the Endowment has grown to over $5,000,000.
