Owl News and Blog
Dear Wakefield Community,
Naturally, as we approach this week’s Thanksgiving holiday, I find myself reflecting on the immense gratitude I feel for the Wakefield School community. In my investiture speech, I shared the following quote from J.R.R. Tolkien, “True education is a kind of never-ending story – a matter of continual beginnings, of habitual fresh starts, of persistent newness.”
The first trimester of the school year has indeed lived up to this expectation. No two days have been alike and our beginnings laid the groundwork for a successful first trimester. Congratulations to the Lower School on an unforgettable Grandparents and Special Friends Day and a hearty, “Job well done!” for our Middle School and Upper School students who just completed exams.
The “all-in” attitude and commitment of the students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, trustees, grandparents, and friends have resulted in the gifts of incredible classes, a festive homecoming week, an exuberant Spooktacular, outstanding sports competitions, excellence in our academic pursuits, and frivolity and laughter in performances. Thank you for your contributions to our school and for all you do to embody The Wakefield Way.
Personally, my family and I are grateful to be a part of Wakefield’s evolving story. This is a truly remarkable school, made so by the investment of the entire community. Thank you for your part in Wakefield’s story and know that we are grateful for your impact and commitment to our school.
I wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with the joys of this special season.
