Living in a heavily digital age, graphic communication is becoming more and more prominent as a means of distributing information among businesses and individuals. As an invaluable tool for promotion, interaction and transmission of ideas, having the basic knowledge and skills to use programs like Photoshop or InDesign has developed into a wonderful resume booster. Wakefield is pleased to offer this course to Grades 10, 11 and 12 this fall! View the course description and a video portfolio of this past year's projects below.
"Building upon what they were introduced to in 7th grade Creative Arts, Graphic Communications provides students the tools and knowledge to create digital art and content using the programs that make up the Adobe Creative Suite. Students learn how to create and manipulate images while learning the basic and midrange tools that are available in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. They are also introduced to the tools and skills needed for basic video creation. Students learn about the real world application of these programs along with the specifics of vector and raster images creating professional looking content. Coursework is project-based and taught as if the students were working in a real-world advertising agency environment." ~ Mr. Junkala, Graphic Communications Instructor
