Annual Fund

At Wakefield School, we think that preparing your child for an extraordinary life means guiding him or her through a rich and balanced routine of academic, athletic, artistic, and social opportunities.

Tuition alone cannot sustain the breadth and depth of what Wakefield's students and faculty achieve. We make up the difference through tax deductible donations to the Annual Fund each year. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our parents, alumni, faculty, trustees, grandparents, former faculty, friends and businesses in our community, the Wakefield experience has grown stronger and more vivid with each passing year.

Wakefield School has a tradition of Parent Participation in the Annual Fund of between 75% - 100%, 100 % by faculty, and 100% by trustees - a rare achievement in independent schools in our nation. These accomplishments represent a remarkable community commitment to Wakefield's passionate mission of creating capable, ethical, articulate citizens prepared to seek challenges, make a difference and live extraordinary lives.

Information about the Annual Fund is mailed at the beginning of October and the fund remains open until the end of our fiscal year on June 30th.

Leadership Council & Archwood Circle

Leadership Council and Archwood Circle are donor groups which provide extraordinary support for Wakefield School.  Leadership Council members donate $10,000 or more to the Annual Fund while Archwood Circle members donate from $5,000 to $9,999 and are encouraged to lend their ideas and expertise to the ongoing process of Wakefield School's development.  In the past, half of the money contributed is directed to the general operating budget while the other half was spent on special projects like funding the faculty pension plan which Leadership Council did in its founding year (2000 – 2001) or the combined support of the major technology upgrade that has been undertaken during 2006 – 2007 and 2007 – 2008.  In the 2008-2009 academic year, Leadership and Archwood members earmarked their entire donations to the operating fund in order to best support our school during this turbulent economic year.

Becoming a member of the Leadership Council or the Archwood Circle is a unique, important, and meaningful way to support Wakefield School’s mission and goals. For more information on joining Leadership Council or Archwood Circle, please contact Ann-Charlotte Robinson at 540-253-7502.
