Visual Arts Teaching Position

Wakefield is looking for a full-time Visual Arts position to teach Lower School Arts classes (beginning at 1st grade), and includes some Middle and Upper School division classes as well. The ideal candidate has a degree in Art education and experience teaching art in either a public or an independent school. This is an opportunity to join a team of talented, dedicated arts professionals who enjoy creative teaching to a broad range of ages in a beautiful, collaborative, learning environment. Substitute Teacher Openings:

Join the Wakefield Substitute list to be called on as needed in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools when a teacher is absent. Substitute teachers follow lesson plans and comply with any instructions from the Headmaster, Division Head or Department Chair. Substitute teachers are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism and exhibit the Wakefield courtesies in all interactions and communications at all times. Appropriate professional appearance is essential for a strong working and learning environment that is conducive to high student and staff performance. Professional attire includes, but is not limited to, collared shirts, dress slacks, dress coordinates, suits, dresses, ties and sport coats. Substitute teachers are expected to maintain the regular teacher’s time schedule, whatever that may be, report for duty at the time designated by the school and to remain on duty until the regular teacher’s dismissal time. Qualified candidates should have some classroom experience and successfully pass all background checks as appropriate for school personnel.
