Summer Camp

Wakefield School’s summer camp program has been developed to reinforce the school’s focus on excellence in education, enrichment in the arts and sciences, and development of each child’s self worth and compassion for others.

The program’s goals are the growth and development of mind and body as well as the providing of an outlet for recreation and fun over the summer months.

The Wakefield summer programs are created and run by many of our own faculty as well as people from our community. We offer a wide range of activities for children age 4 and up. We also offer before-camp care and after-camp care.

We have a unique group of counselors who will be offering a wonderful variety of camps this summer.  Please read about some of our featured camps.  For more information, please review our camp catalogue.

Featured Camps

History Gaming Camp - Taught by Phillip Brown - for rising 8th graders and up
Session I: June 22-26
Session II: June 29-July 3
Session III: July 20-24

Students will spend a week learning the rules and design of historical games, both strategic and tactical. They will have an opportunity to run full length versions of historically-based games that they otherwise may not have the time to pursue. In the process, they may just change history! Attend one or attend them all!

Hoops 101, Taught by Scott Barron, Co-ed, ages 6 and up, July 6-10

The focus of the camp is to provide a solid foundation of individual skills and team concepts and an environment in which their implementation is consistently reinforced. Stations' work, daily contests, and games allow campers to maximize the benefit of attending a sport-specific camp while having a great time. Features include individual instruction daily, cumulative weekly contests, introduction to strength and conditioning techniques, air-conditioned gyms, outstanding camp-to-coach ratio, and guest speakers, including current and former college players.
