Wakefield is very community-centric. The Wakefield community is one that helps one another for the betterment of the whole.

Wakefield believes it is important to give back to the local community. Opportunities abound for our students, faculty and staff to serve others. On any given occasion, you might find students participating in activities such as recycling, where they are focused on collecting, sorting and weighing the school’s paper, plastic and aluminum cans, or the Junior Stewards Club, where they are focused on local environmental issues. You will find faculty who are wild life rehabilitators or volunteer rescue squad members or American Red Cross volunteers, among others. You will find sports teams who volunteer to pick fruit and vegetables at local farms to help those in need, or who may help with yard work to those needing assistance. You will find students who have applied for and been awarded grants to help the local Food Bank. Discovery Days offer additional opportunities for Middle and Upper School students to help the community with focused activities planned through our faculty and staff.

Wakefield is environmentally conscientious about our campus, as illustrated in our subdued campus lighting and the the setting of our buildings in the hillside. We are working with the community to provide walking and jogging trails accessible to the residents of The Plains as well as our students, families, faculty, and staff.
