The excitement of performing before the Wakefield students and community has spread among our students.
There are many opportunities for our students to pursue acting in all levels of the school. Each year at least one of the productions is an All School production involving students from Lower, Middle and Upper Schools. Imagine having a super-charged group performing such productions as The Ugly Duckling and Amahl and the Night Visitors!
Other opportunities include the Middle School Arts rotation, through which a student may choose clowning, theatre and set construction, set design, audio, lighting, and costume design and production, as well as acting skills.
The third grade play is always a big hit among students and families. Rats! The Pied Piper of Hamelin was one of the largest productions in the 2007-2008 school year, with every third grade student having an active role in the play.
The Archwood Community Theatre offers opportunities for students, faculty, administrators, parents, and community members to participate together in plays and musicals produced on the Wakefield campus.
