Pre-School Program

Wakefield School's licensed pre-school program is focused on school readiness. 

With the limited class size (only 10), our teacher is able to help students prepare for their future as students and life long learners by providing them with strong foundational skills. 

Specific areas of concentration include:

• introduction to letters, sounds, colors, and numbers
• development of fine motor skills
• development of gross motor skills 
• social skills

Mrs. Redabaugh helps at the teddy bear tea party.

Activities include:

• Circle time
• Center time (free play)
• Snack
• Music
• Art
• Outdoor play
• Foreign language
• Library
• Physical Education         

Families may choose to attend either half-days (8:30am-noon) or full days (8:30am-3:30pm).  Students attend 2 days (T/TH), 3 days (M/W/F), or 5 days a week (M-F).  Students must be picked up by 4pm.

Admission to the pre-school is on a rolling basis throughout the year, determined by availability of space.  In order to be eligible for the pre-school program, students must be at least three years old and fully toilet trained.  Admission testing is not required for pre-school.  There is a short application form parents must complete in order to be considered.  Pre-school students who wish to enter Wakefield’s pre-kindergarten and kindergarten program will be required to submit the necessary application materials and complete the admission testing in order to be considered for admission.

Pre-School Pricing for 2010-2011:

* Prices reflect single payment option.  There is a non-refundable deposit of $500 to hold a place in the class.  The deposit will be credited to the total tuition due and is not refundable for any reason.  There are annual fees for books/supplies:  $75 for the 2-day program; $125 for the 3-day option, $200 for the 5-day option.  One and two payment plans are available for Pre-School.
