Employment

Wakefield School offers not only a beautiful campus overlooking Bull Run Mountain and the Blue Ridge Mountains, but also is conveniently located 1/3 mile off Interstate 66 in The Plains, VA.

Our teachers and staff are an integral part of the Wakefield Community actively participating in student and campus activities throughout the year.  As an employee of Wakefield School, you will have opportunities to contribute in a number of ways, from coaching the sport of your interest to acting in a play as a member of The Archwood Community Theatre to playing a role as Immigration Officer on Immigration Day to driving a group of students to a local museum to chaperoning a dance and many, many more.   Our teachers and staff are passionate about what they do and positive about how they do it.

Key to our success is the belief in and adoption of all aspects of our mission.  We provide a rigorous liberal arts education through a challenging, content-rich curriculum and extra-curricular activities that are delivered by skilled, supportive, and creative teachers, coaches, and advisors.  We believe in broad knowledge, the equal importance of character and intellect, the benefits of hard work, and the limitless potential of our students.  We foster self-discipline, independence, creativity, and curiosity.  We welcome families who will embrace our ambitious vision:  to develop capable, ethical, and articulate citizens who will seek the challenge, make a difference, and live extraordinary lives…each in his or her way.

Of the 100 faculty and staff, approximately 15% have doctorate degrees, 35% have masters degrees and represent both national and international experiences.  Some of our faculty and staff have children attending now or who attended Wakefield School in the past.

We thank you for your interest in Wakefield School and look forward to reviewing your application, resumé and curriculum vitae.  Wakefield School is an equal opportunity employer.  We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin.
